WHAT HAPPENED?????

To be honest, I don't have a clue. It could of been any of these: Cold weather, waiting an extra hour to start the game, not sitting outside at lunch, or not being able to hit the ball. Any of these can contribute to the way we played last night. All I know is that Heads Up didn't show up to play.

We came out hitting well. We scored the first 3 runs of the game. Our defense started out getting the first three batters out. After that, we just flat out fell apart. We had multiple errors fielding and hit way too many pop ups. It was ugly.

This game took us out of contention and probably is going to place us in the middle of the pack. We still have 3 more games to play, but all three are in the upper echelon of the league. Our last three games, we play the number 1, 2 and 3 teams in the league. Ouch. Heads Up could take a mighty hit this week. Hopefully we can bounce back and at least win one or two of the final games. Stay Tuned for the conclusion.

Windham and Lacy Goes Down

This one was a big one. This was one softball game that I definitely wanted to win. I went to high school with a lot of the players from the other team, so bragging rights were on the line last night.

We got down early when W & L scored 5 runs in the first inning. I got a little nervous, but I knew their defense was a little suspect. We were also missing two of our starters. We had a whole new look in the outfield. That didn't effect our bats though. We had one of the best hitting games as a team last night. It seemed like everyone was on fire. We came back and scored 4 runs of our own in the bottom of the first. From there, we kind of took charge. We got a lead and held it till the top of the 6th inning. In that inning we game them about 6 outs. I made an error, couldn't make a catch on a ball blooped into the outfield, and numerous other dropped balls in this inning. We stayed composed though. Our team is tough minded and we weren't going to let this one slip away. We had played too well to let that happen.

The bottom of the 6th inning started off with Aaron getting a base hit to lead it off. Then, John hit a single to left field that moved Aaron to second base. Next, Rashaun (our replacement outfielder for the game) hit a ground ball to second and everyone was safe. That left Aaron on third, John on second, and Rashaun on third base. I came up with the bases loaded. W & H moved their outfielders up to try and save the game if the ball was hit to the outfield. Jeff said, "Just hit it over their head." I stepped in and looked around. I didn't crush the ball, but I hit a fly ball to left field. The outfielder caught it, but Ace (with his mom screaming, "RUN ACE RUN", he trotted home for the victory. We won our fourth game in a row.

Without our leadoff man, yours truly had to step in a get things started. I did well. I went 4-4 with a walk of sacrifice fly to end the game. That's right, we one the game 17 to 16 in the bottom of the 6th inning. It was a hard fought game for both teams, but we prevailed. This kept us ina tie for second place with Reeder's Auto. We play them next week. That one is going to be exciting. Stay tuned to see how we finish the season.

Special Moments

I have a special moment in my life. Wednesday is me and Julie's Anniversary. I can't believe it, but it has been three years since we have been married. Time sure flies when you are having fun and making babies. Ha, just kidding. Time has flown by though. It seems like yesterday were going to the church to tie the knot. I was so nervous, but I didn't show it.

I just wanted to toot my own horn for a little bit. Cahoots to me and Julie. I LOVE YOU JULIE!!!!!!!!!!
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY and many more to come. Bye

This Team is For Real

Well, you can put another win in the books for Heads Up. I think we have the potential to give this league a run for their money or trophy that is. Heads up came out of the gates a little slow. That has been a regular scenario for this team. We are slow starting, but about the third inning we turn the bats loose.

Defense wins games. Heads Up has by far one of the top defenses in the league. We are only allowing an average of 9 runs a game. Now in softball, that is pretty good. We will need to see this defense improve just a little in the up and coming weeks due to the tough part of our schedule coming around the corner.

This week we start our two-game-a-week schedule. We will be playing on Tuesday and Thursday due to Hurricane Katrina. Man did she screw up everything. Any way, for the next three weeks, depending on the weather, we will play two games a week. This makes the whole team happy. There will be no more week long waits while we all get out of our game mindset.

The player of last nights game would definitely have to be Jeff's dad's bat. That's right, the bat. Jeff McNeece brought his dad's bat out of retirement to lead our team to victory. Everyone wanted to use it. The legend says that about 25 years ago, Jeff's dad used to hit two home runs a night. I don't know if it is true, but it sure does have a large sweet spot. That's why the game ball goes to Jeff's Dad's bat.

The final score of last nights game was 14-7. Heads Up had control of the game the whole way through. Jackson Express picked up some better players from other teams to help them out a little, but it still didn't work. Tuesday is one of the first big games we have. Windham and Lacy are coming in with a record of 4-2. They are coming off of a disturbing lose to Miskelly's. They played well, but still lost by 12 runs. I think we can take them. We have the hitting ability and definitely the defense to prevail in this game.

MY PREDICTIONS:

HEADS UP 17 Windham and Lacy 12

We are now in a tie for second place. I believe this game will decide if we actually have a chance to win this league. I'm Out.

Who is This Guy?

This guy comes to my site everyday and writes a comment about something. All I know about him is that he used a proof picture for his site, he drives an F-150 (at least that is what Aaron's blog says), he likes using vulgar words on his blog(word of the week), and he just got drilled by all of his so called friends (which I'm sure will be told on R. J.'s blog in great detail hopefully).

As for this so called ebb, I don't know what to say to him except, CATCH THE DAMN BALL WHEN IT COMES TO YOU, PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!

One more Walk in the Park

Heads Up Vs. Jackson Express
Once again Heads Up (3-1) is going into battle with another conference foe. This week they are playing Jackson Express (0-5). This should be a cake walk for the powerful Heads Up team. If they show up to play this Thursday night, it should be a 10 run rule victory.
The one problem with this team is that they don't like to blow the other team out. They would rather play for an hour or a complete game of 7 innings. This game will be different. It is a late game. Heads Up players are going to be ready to go home and get in bed. They are starting to get old and some of them have children already. I bet they will be ready to finish this team off quick.
My Prediction:
HEADS UP 18 JACKSON EXPRESS 3
It should end by the 10 run rule in 5 innings. The total time should be 38 minutes to complete this victory. I'm Out.

Bama and Ole Miss

Thank the Lord Bama pulled that one out. The only reasoning I can think of behind the game being so close is that Bama looked past Ole Miss this week. The Tide didn't play very well at all. Maybe they were missing their playmaker Prothro. Spurlock also played the game of his life. I guess that is what all Ole Miss fans thought he was going to do once Eli left. They were wrong. Michael Vick, yeah right.

I was definitely shaking in my boots. I didn't think that Ole Miss had a chance, but that is how Mississippi schools are. When you are least expecting it, that's when they pull the upset. I will give The Rebs some credit. They fought to the best of their ability and just did come up short. It was a very boring, but a good game in my eyes. What else can you say about a last second field goal?

It is also starting to look like the Bulldogs and Rebels will have another memorable Egg Bowl this year playing to stay out of the cellar in the West half of the SEC.

Heads Up Vs. Spencer Brokerage

Quick Recap

Heads Up was the Visitors this game, and we came out swinging. We jumped out to a 3-0 lead before they even got to bat. Then, when they did get up to bat, they went 1, 2, 3. The bats were rolling last night to start off. We jumped out to an impressive lead, then we started to play a little bit. We should of finished 'em off, but some of the team wanted to keep playing. So, we started lolly gagging around and let them score some runs. Instead of the 10 run rule which they should of got. We ended up winning 14-10. It's a win though, and that's all that counts. That victory moved our record to 3-1. That win moves us in to a tie for third place.

Reeder's Auto was absolutely drilled by Miskelly's. When we were leaving, I looked over at the scoreboard and it read 24-7. Not a very good showing by one of the leagues top teams. It also looks like Miskelly's is definitely the team to beat this year. They moved their record to 4-o on the season.

Up next for Heads Up is Jackson Express (0-4). The game will be played on Field 1 at 8:30 p.m. This will be the first time this year we have played on the front field. Lets hope it is kind to us and can give us some needed help on our batting and fielding.

Heads Up Vs. Spencer Brokerage

TONIGHT 6:30 p.m.
Shiloh Park
Brandon
For a second consecutive week, the games will be played. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!! Heads Up (2-1)has a tough opponent on their hands tonight. Spencer Brokerage (record unknown)is a tough team with some real skilled baseball players on their team. Heads Up will need to bring their A Game to the field early to stretch and go over the game strategy.
This week has been tough for me. I am coming of a 24 hour stomach virus that lasted about 48 hours due to the dehydration in my system. I am prepared for war tonight though. I am always ready for some softball. Today has also been a little busy due to the work load and the fact that Aaron and I have been searching for a player to substitute for tonight's game since the power lefty Todd Barrett will be out of tonight line-up due to his sisters Beauty and Beau. She is definitely a Beauty..... I mean, back to the game. He will be missed deeply by the whole team. Todd is taking off at the wrong time. He is on a hitting streak like no other. He is ON FIRE!!!!!!!
Any who, MY PREDICTIONS:
HEADS UP 15 SPENCER BROKERAGE 8
Heads Up keeps the good defense going with another victory. Two in a row baby.

State Rebuilds

After a tough three weeks of playing the toughest in the nation, the Bulldogs have to rebuild and learn from their loses. The one good thing about those three weeks is that no body was seriously injured. The Dogs played well in spurts, but just couldn't get it done. I am very proud of how we played. I mean, that was the upper tier of the SEC, the toughest league in the NCAA's.

The best thing about this week besides the rest, is that we can't lose a game this week. If you didn't know, the Bulldogs have a week off. It couldn't of came at a better time. We need to rest, rest, rest. I am hoping that after a week off we can come back strong and beat Houston. Good Lord I hope so. We need to keep our edge on Ole Miss. They are definitely going to lose this weekend. That will put them at 2 -4, same as us.

I am looking forward to the rest of the season to see how Croom Dawg can keep his troops prepared. Go to Hell Ole Miss, and Go Dogs. I'm Out.

MSU VS. Florida

Well, It's that time again, Game Time. State is traveling to Gainesville to take on the Gators of Florida. Once again, no one gives State a chance to win. Why should they? They shouldn't. We are a mediocre team that is traveling to a place we usually get killed at. No one gave us a chance last year either. Look what happened. State beat the Gators at Starkville 38-31.

To be honest, I just don't see us winning, but that is the time that the Bulldogs usually do something good. State needs to jump out just like the last two weeks and get some points on the board. Our defense has looked very good at times this year. If we can hold them to a low scoring game, I think we have a chance. If it is a high scoring game, we will be the one getting blown out. We have to contain Leak (Florida's QB) just like we did Shockley for Georgia.

MY Prediction is:

MSU 17 Florida 31

I just don't feel we can hang with the Gators this year. It is also their Homecoming game which means there is going to be a large crowd as usual for Florida games.

The Crazy Hockey Guy

I don't know why I thought of this, but enjoy. The story takes place about two years ago. Julie and I used to live in a duplex at the reservoir. The nearest hot spot for us to go was Buffalo Wild Wings. I love watching sports, and we both loved drinking. What better spot to go than a sports bar.

Julie and I are enjoying our first, second, or third tall beer(I can't remember), when all of the sudden this guy walks in the door. His face is bloody and he is carrying a duffel bag on his shoulder. I look at Julie and I am like "Hell No". I already knew what was going to happen. We were sitting in the bar area at one of the tables that seats like 6 people, and it was just us two. The bar was very crowded, just like every night. What does he do? He comes and sits down right next to us and starts talking. And when I mean talking, he wouldn't shut up. He was a very big and rugged guy. I didn't want to piss him off, especially since he looks like he has already been in about 3 fight.

After a while of him running his mouth, he offers to buy us a drink. I'm like, okay. I never turn down a beer, especially when someone else is paying. It turns out through his rambling, that this guy plays for the Jackson Bandits. The Bandits are a semi pro hockey team here in Jackson. It also ends up, go figure, that he is from Canada. If the accent didn't give that away.

As he continued to talk, I started to feel as though I could start to ask him questions about his night. So, I just did it. I asked him what happened to his face. He said that it was from playing hockey, but his girlfriend did just kick him out of her apartment. They got in a big fight. I was hoping that he didn't beat the poor girl to death. That is why he had his duffel bag with all his clothes in it.

He had been at the table for a while now. I guess he liked our company. He says, "lets have another beer and then go to the Dock". I looked at Julie. She looked at me. We both kinda went, "I guess". You know how that goes. No one wants to say no, so you just go along with whatever. We didn't have anything better to do I guess. So, we finish our beer and start to go to the car. He says, "I guess I will just ride with y'all". I thought to myself, imagine that. I tried to get out of it. I said that we weren't going to stay long, stuff like that. It didn't work. He said that he could find a ride from there.

On the ride, he discussed that I could tell the I.D. checkers at the Dock that I played on the hockey team and I could get in free. I said "How?" He said, "Tell them you play on the team and that you are from Saskatchewan". I said, "Yeah right". He said that it would work. I was feeling pretty good, so I said what the hell. We walked up and they already knew who he was like he lived there or something. He probably did. We walked up and he said, "hey guys, this is my teammate Matt from Saskatchewan". Now I know I don't look like a hockey player, but it worked. They checked my I.D. to make sure that I was of age and let us in. I just knew they were going to look at my I.D. and go, so Matt, you are from Brandon. I thought you were from Canada. They didn't though and it worked like a charm.

As we walked in, it was like 12:00 midnight. We went right to the bar and got another drink and went to find a seat. The hockey guy, I wish I could remember his name, went straight to the dance floor to hang with some people he knew. Thank the lord. He was finally gone. I even think that he tried hitting on Julie before the night was over. Anyway, after he went to the dance floor, me and Julie went to the totally different side of the Dock so he couldn't find us. I think we might of had one more drink and then left.

To the Hockey guy from Canada:

I haven't seen you since that night. I hope that everything is going okay. Julie and I had a great time that night. I hope you did like you said and made it back to Canada.

new Pics of Aubrey

This is my favorite of the three pictures. My two girls. Aren't they sweet?
This is what I call Messy Aubrey. She loves her green beans. Just kidding. She really loves her carrots though.
This is Aubrey posing on the floor. Her Mommy likes to dress her up while we are sitting at home with nothing to do.

AccuRadio

How many people have tried this music service on the web? My wife told me about this music provider on the internet. I was like, I've tried MSN and others, and they were pretty bad. With Accuradio, you can choose your type of music and then pick sub-channels. I prefer 90's (Grunge and Later. The station is awesome. If you don't like a song, all you have to do is skip it. On MSN, if you skipped so many songs, you ran out of skips. On AccuRadio, you can never run out of skips. I rarely have to use any skips though. The station is that good.

Also, they don't continually try to get you to order the station and try to charge you. It is totally free. Even I know you can't beat that. So, while I am at work, typing away, I can jam out with the hits from my era. Sounds pretty good, huh. Why don't you give it a try and tell me what you think.
