Brandon Vs. Ocean Springs

BRANDON BULLDOGS VS OCEAN SPRINGS

Friday Night Playoffs

Put your women and children to bed early this Friday night, because the big boys, the 5A Boys, come out this weekend for a little bit of football. Brandon will be traveling three hours away to Ocean Springs to take on the Greyhounds. Brandon snuck into the playoffs with a 6-5 record, and this will be the first playoff game since the might Jerius Norwood left our Alma Mater in 2002 for a not so good MSU Bulldog squad.

Coach Dan Davis believes that this will be a good match-up for the Bulldogs. "We feel like Ocean Springs is a good match-up for us," Davis said. "They are not an Oak Grove-type team that will spread you out." Hopefully that is true, because Oak Grove put a whoopin on the Bulldogs earlier this year.

Brandon coach Dan Davis, who has compiled an 88-47 record in 11 seasons, pointed to the victory over Madison as the turning point. After that game, Brandon has looked much better and hasn't given games away like they did against Pearl in the first game of the season.

It looks as though some underclassmen have stepped it up to lead the Bulldogs back to the play-offs. Freshman Patrick Durr, who was moved up to the varsity squad, rushed for 114 yards last week against Wingfield and provides a solid 1-2 punch with junior Robert Smith (184-823 yards). Quarterback Patrick Hall and receivers Skylar Parker (21 catches, 244 yards) and Demario Davis (14-259 yards) lead an improving passing game, while Jake Mullins, Matt Miles and Craig Hobbs anchor the line.

Brandon will need a complete game on defense as well as offense to pull this one out. The game is away, Ocean Springs was the 5A runner-up, and we need a playoff victory to get this city back on the map as a playoff contender. Good Luck Dogs and Give 'em Hell!!!!!

We're cool. I just don't want negative words on my blog. The last comment you made, I didn't appreciate it, that's why I deleted it. We're cool though. How have you been?

Florence, huh? I don't think you did your research very well, because the Florence Eagles are terrible at football.
